Why am I a Librarian?

I am a librarian because I know the potential this profession has to make a difference in the life of every person that walks through my door. My passion is to make learning fun and let my students know that through all forms of reading and writing their possibilities are endless. In addition, we work on speaking, listening, and technology skills. I will introduce my students to various topics, both old and new, through multi-media and excite them about learning in a hands-on environment. I also acknowledge that in this day and age, I will be learning from my students just like they will learn from me. If I can encourage my students to try something new, dig deeper, work together and maybe even fail while trying, but never give up...I have done my job and done it well!

I have been a school librarian for many years and LOVE every minute of it! From the staff to the students and their parents, it has been an adventure of a lifetime that I never want to end! I have learned so much and acknowledge I look forward to learning something new everyday! In our library, I want everyone to feel safe and welcomed. This library is filled with great books, successful book fairs, lesson-enhancing videos, hands-on activities, motivating contests, promoting teamwork,
encouraging great character and LOTS of FUN!
